Art, Design and Technology

Curriculum intent statement:

To empower our students to become creative, curious and critical thinkers through rich and exploratory artistic experiences, enabling them to observe, experiment and refine ideas with confidence. In doing so, they craft personal and meaningful visual languages informed by historical traditions, cultural narratives and sociological contexts, engaging thoughtfully with the world as independent and reflective creators.

Art  & Design 

To develop students into creative, curious and critical thinkers through rich, exploratory and purposeful artistic experiences, so that they observe, experiment and refine ideas with confidence, creating meaningful visual responses informed by culture, history and the world around them. 

Photography 

To develop students into creative, observant and confident visual communicators through rich, challenging and purposeful artistic experiences, so that they express ideas, see the world from different perspectives, and communicate with imagination, skill and purpose.  

Food 

To develop students into confident, creative and informed cooks through rich, practical and purposeful food education, so that they understand nutrition, make healthy and sustainable food choices, and develop the lifelong skills to feed themselves and others with confidence, creativity and care. 

Design Technology 

To develop our students into creative, curious and critical thinkers through rich, challenging and purposeful design and make experiences, so that they think like engineers, act like innovators and work sustainably to improve the world locally and globally.
