Post 16 Education

There are number of options for Post 16 Education, from joining Sexey’s Sixth to traineeships and appenticeships.

Sexey’s Sixth Form offers a range of subjects at A Level and BTEC the link to the subjects offered and curriculum can be found here

Other local colleges and Sixth Form’s will offer a mixture of A Levels and BTEC courses.

Traineeships – A skills development programme for 16-24 year olds, includes an unpaid work placement and designed to help you get ready for an apprenticeship. Traineeships can last between six weeks to one year – watch the video here

Higher Education

Higher Education at university or a college may seem a long way off, but it can be helpful to know what the options are. Of course, many young people choose not to go to university and there are lots of sources of information about ‘non-uni’ choices.

The UCAS website provides lots of information about going to university and how to apply.
