Meet the Houseparents

Senior Houseparent: Lucy O’Donnell 

After a successful career in floristry, my family relocated to Somerset when my husband (a teacher) was offered a job in a boarding school. I can remember my time as a student in boarding and have always appreciated the unique impact residential education can have on developing young people – and the lifelong friendships that come from living with each other. As my three children grew up, I joined Sherborne Prep School as a Teaching Assistant, ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) and Art Teacher. My son became a boarder at Sexey’s in 2023, and I am delighted to join the community as the Houseparent of Coombe. My family, Bruno (our cat) and Teddy and Edward (our guinea pigs) – are looking forward to making Coombe House a home from home for young people boarding for the first time.

 

Assistant Houseparent: Charlotte Russell

Charlotte describes herself as a friendly, caring and approachable house parent. Her experience comes from residential children’s care and growing up as a boarder herself. She’s creative and loves to support a fun and safe environment. Charlotte is energetic, enthusiastic and enjoys cooking while having eclectic hobbies that range from nail art and reading to Formula 1 and much in between.
