Guidance and support
It is an essential part of our role to help you prepare for your future. Whatever you’re planning – to go to university, start work, take a gap year – we will provide you with the information and advice you need to get there and impress.
We pride ourselves on the quality of our pastoral support and strong sense of community. Our students tell us time and again that this sense of belonging, being listened to and understood is what they most value.
A huge part of Sixth Form life is preparation for your future career. In addition to our hugely experienced Tutors and Sixth Form staff, we have a dedicated Careers Advisor on hand to talk to you about your options, and the steps you need to get there.
Sexey’s has an annual Careers Week, during which our students practise networking skills, presentation techniques, learn about student finance, working abroad, and making a great university application. They hear from expert speakers and visit universities too. We also run a number of sessions with local business leaders that act as practice interviews – essential training for the real thing!
Our students also undertake a work experience placement, with students recently working at hospitals, veterinary surgeries, publishers, art galleries, designers and more. We have strong links with local businesses if you need help finding your perfect placement. Our Careers page is also kept up to date with current opportunities for work.
Please note – due to the Covid-19 outbreak, a lot of our support has gone online to ensure that students continue to be supported, challenged and guided to help them on to the next stages of their life journey.
