Lower School Day Place Years 7 to 11
For Year 7 Day places only, starting September
We are delighted to welcome a local cohort of students into Year 7 each year.
If you live in Somerset you can find out your catchment school by using the Catchment Area Finder.
Please note that our ‘designated transport area’ and the school catchment area are different so please don’t automatically assume that you will be entitlement to travel assistance. Please check your eligibility by emailing schooladmissions@somerset.gov.uk if you are not sure.
The applications for transferring from primary School to Year 7 are dealt with by Somerset Council. You will need to apply through the Somerset Council website – a link to their information page is here.
For the 2026/27 September intake we have an increased PAN and are still accepting late applications via Somerset Council. All applications are reviewed and processed in accordance with our Admissions Policy.

For in-year day applications, or applications for day places starting in September in any year other than Year 7:
We welcome enquiries from families of students who are already in secondary education and are considering a transfer to Sexey’s School.
Before making an In Year application we would ask that you visit Somerset Council In Year Admissions which explains how to apply for an in‑year school place, outlines what you need to do and the important things to consider before changing schools.
If you are looking for a school place to start immediately please complete the In Year Application Form and return it to Admissions.
If you are looking for a Day place to start in September 2026 please complete the In Year Application Form and return it to Admissions no earlier than 1st June 2026.
All received applications will be reviewed and processed by our Admissions Panel in accordance with our Admissions Policy . You will be contacted with a decision within 15 school days of a compete application being received. Should your application be refused based on the school being oversubscribed, you will be placed on our waiting list and will be contacted should a place become available.
