RS Drop Down Day: Exploring Ethics and Careers

Year 12 students, alongside students from Years 9 and 10, took part in an RS Drop Down Day exploring the relevance of Religious Studies and ethics in their everyday lives and future aspirations.

The day began with an inspiring talk from Bishop Mick Fleming, who shared his powerful testimony of faith and explained how his experiences led him to dedicate his life to promoting social justice. Inspired by his message, students had the opportunity to write letters to prisoners serving Imprisonment for Public Protection (IPP) sentences.

Students also presented Bishop Mick Fleming with a donation raised through a cake sale in support of his charity, Church on the Street.

The event concluded with an interactive online session led by a paramedic and a member of Thales, who discussed the role of Religious Studies and ethical decision-making within their professions. Students gained valuable insights into how RS and ethics can influence a wide range of popular career paths and remain highly relevant beyond the classroom.
