Autumn Newsletter 2025

Welcome to our Autumn Newsletter, a chance to reflect on a busy and successful first term at school.

I would like to congratulate all our students—particularly those in Years 11 and 13— who have completed their first set of mock exams as they prepare for the year ahead. Their focus and determination have been impressive.

I am also extremely proud to share that our 2024/2025 GCSE results place us among the top five schools in Somerset, with 52% of students achieving grade 5+ in English and Maths. This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the hard work of our students, staff, and the unwavering support of our families.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to school life this term, from attending our Fireworks Night to supporting raffles, charity events, and everything in between. Your involvement enriches our community in so many ways.

This week’s Christmas Showcase was a musical triumph, and it was wonderful to celebrate the incredible talents of our students with parents and the local community. We also gathered at St Mary’s Church for our annual Christmas Service, beautifully led by our Chair of Governors, Rev. Jonathan Evans—a moment of reflection and togetherness for our school community.

As we finish for the year, I wish you all a peaceful and relaxing Christmas break. Thank you once again for your continued support, and I look forward to all that the new term will bring.

Warmest wishes,

Steve Clayson

Headteacher
