Careers Fair inspires students from Years 8 to 13
On December 4th, we hosted our annual Careers Fair, giving students from Years 8 to 13 the opportunity to explore a wide range of post-16 and post-18 pathways. The event was an exciting and informative day, helping our pupils gain insight into potential careers, further education, and apprenticeship opportunities.
Students had the chance to meet a diverse group of employers and education providers, including the MOD, RAF, Taylor Woodrow, The Newt, Norland, Fort Financial Planning, Dextra Group, Bridges Ltd, EDF Energy, and the Department for Work and Pensions. Apprenticeship providers such as Pro Apprenticeships, as well as colleges and universities including Bath College, Bridgwater & Taunton College, Strode College, Bath Spa University, Exeter University, Solent University, Sheffield University, and the Royal Agricultural University, offered guidance on future study and career pathways. NHS Somerset and the Pharmacy Workforce team were also on hand to discuss healthcare careers.
Our own Sexey’s Sixth team provided invaluable support to students considering staying on at Sexey’s for their post-16 studies, helping them explore course options and plan their next steps. Our Independent Careers Advisor was also available throughout the day, offering personalised advice to students.
Megan who attended from Bath Spa University said ‘We really appreciate all the effort that went into organising such a well-run event, it was great to see such strong engagement and interest from your learners.’
We would like to extend a huge thank you to all the exhibitors for sharing their expertise and inspiring our students. Events like this play a crucial role in helping young people make informed decisions about their futures, and the Careers Fair was a fantastic opportunity for our students to explore the wide range of options available to them.
