Sexey’s Sixth Spring Term Roundup

Sexey’s Sixth Spring Term Roundup

Welcome to our Sexey’s Sixth Spring Term Roundup.

The Spring Term this year has been especially busy this year with GCSE and A level students working hard on their mock exams, achieving strong results across the board. The rest of the school has been equally busy competing in a multitude of extracurriculars. With our Head Student, Ben Wheller, scoring a particularly impressive hat-trick in a recent football match.

The whole school enjoyed World Book Day with some great costumes on show and a plethora of activities offered. Later in the term a visit from Dr Peter Vardy in which he explored a huge range of subjects ignited similar enthusiasm and stimulated lots of good debate amongst students.

As part of National Careers Week Year 12 students enjoyed a visit and teambuilding exercises with the Army and Nikki Blackwell from ASK Apprenticeships came t o discuss and highlight Apprenticeships as a real alternative to continuing in full time education.

As the Sixth Form review approaches students from across the whole school have been auditioning, showing off a diverse range of talents. The great enthusiasm shown already is certain to make the show a success.

The French department has also kicked off their Duolingo language competition and International Day of Francophonie events. With students already having already thrown themselves into the tasks, enjoying the opportunity to explore the culture even further than they already do in class.

The whole student body has a lot to be proud of this term and looks forward to the challenges of the next one.
