On Thursday 7 December, we were delighted to host our annual Careers Fair for students in Years 8 to 13.

The event was organised to help students discover the range of opportunities available to them when their time at Sexey’s comes to an end, with exhibitors ranging from employers, colleges, universities and training providers. Students from Years 8 to 13 were able to learn first-hand from employers about work, employment and the skills that are valued in the workplace, alongside grade or subject requirements that are needed in order to pursue their chosen career paths.

The exhibitors included Thales , FJ Chalk, Bridgwater and Taunton College, Army Careers, Royal Air Force, The Newt, Sycamore Process Engineering, Sheldrake Training, Sexey’s Sixth and The Department for Work and Pensions.

Rob Dawkins from Sheldrake Training said “Thanks for a really great event; I thought the students were extremely engaged and really well behaved; a real credit to Sexey’s.”

Adam Thomas, Assistant Headteacher for Teaching and Learning, said, “It was wonderful to see so many organisations at Sexey’s for our Careers Fair this year. It’s important that we are able to show our students the vast array of post-16 and post-18 opportunities available so that they can make informed decisions about their future pathways.”
