Psychology Paris Trip 2024

Psychology Paris Trip 2024

Year 11 and Year 13 psychology students travelled to Paris to attend a psychology conference run by ‘Psychology Live!’.

Top internationally renowned psychologists and authors spoke on topics such as Criminal Psychology, the Neuroscience of Productivity, and Sleep & Anxiety. Following this, students attended museums throughout Paris with exhibitions on ‘Crowd Behaviour’ and ‘The Brain’ which supplemented and extended their knowledge from the GCSE and A-Level courses at Sexey’s.

Students were also given the task of running their own small scale experiment around the Disneyland parks, with students researching a psychological behaviour of their choice such as: behavioural nudges in queues, heart rate on rides or crowd behaviour at busy events like the ‘light show’.

In between their studies, students also had a chance to build their cultural capital, visiting sites such as the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe and the Louvre, soaking up the Art and History of the city. Some students used it as an opportunity to practice their French whilst others kept close to Mr McLeish for his rudimentary translations!

Students Alex and Charlotte said “For us, the Paris psychology trip was the perfect opportunity to hear from unique psychological perspectives and apply new psychological techniques to a real life setting that will remain memorable forever”
