Sexey’s Sixth Spring Term Roundup
With this term coming to a close, we can now celebrate the events and achievements of our Sexey’s Sixth Form community over the last few months of the new year.
Our recent joint Maths and Psychology trip to Paris was an unforgettable and enriching experience for everyone involved. Over the course of the visit, students had the opportunity to explore both the cultural and academic highlights of one of Europe’s most iconic cities. A particular highlight of the trip was spending two exciting days at Disneyland Paris, where students were able to relax, bond, and enjoy some well-earned fun alongside their studies.
In addition to this, the group visited the world renowned Louvre, where they engaged with some of the most significant works of art in history, and the Cité des Sciences et de l’industrie, where interactive exhibits brought complex scientific and psychological concepts to life. These visits provided valuable context and inspiration, linking classroom learning to real-world applications.
The maths students also benefitted from attending a fascinating academic talk featuring three different speaker, each offering unique insights into the subject. Among them was the well-known mathematician Bobby Seagull, whose engaging and accessible approach made a lasting impression on students.
In preparation for upcoming exams, the March Mocks took place, getting us ready for the exam hall to come in June. We’d like to congratulate all of our fellow peers, studying hard and putting their all into each exam that took place. As part of the March mocks experience, brown envelope day took place, bringing us all together to open up our results and making students aware of what would happen on the real day.
As a post-exam reward, the Year 13s have their June prom to look forward to. Our Prefect team has been working hard to fundraise for prom through weekly bake sales as well as a guess the number of sweets jar. When it comes to raising money, we know we can count on the sweet tooths of our peers!
With Year 13s readily anticipating the approaching exams, we wish them all the best in their revision over the next three months. We’d also like to say a huge thank you to all of the teachers and tutors currently championing our Sixth Formers in their A Level education.
From behalf of Sexey’s Sixth Form, Happy Easter! We hope everyone is able to get some well-deserved rest over the holidays.
