National Careers Week
This is National Careers Week. We’re encouraging all of our students – no matter what year group – to take some time to consider your careers opportunities. It’s never too early to start thinking about what’s on offer!
Our Careers leaders, Mr Thomas (Assistant Head – Teaching & Learning) and Mrs Watson (Independent Careers Advisor) have produced a Careers Week Guide, complete with tips and links for careers options or opportunities you could explore this Careers Week. You can download this here.
Is Careers just about getting a job or is it about exploring the options, planning your future or following your dreams?
Careers means all of these things and is about your personal journey through learning and experience at school and beyond. How many adults do you know who have changed their job and maybe their career? Recent surveys suggest that the average adult has around 12 changes in a working lifetime!
To prepare for this, it’s key to focus on developing the skills you need in your working life. This is as well as gaining the qualifications and making decisions about which path to take. Take advantage of the experiences, learning, support and careers information, advice and guidance on offer at Sexey’s.
In our Guide we’ve selected opportunities that you could explore on jobs that are predicted to be a big part of our future. Just follow your instincts, and the links, to find out more!
Remember our Careers pages are also regularly updated with events and careers opportunities and that we are always here to discuss your options. Good luck!
