We’re pleased to announce that we will soon be offering the B2 First (formerly known as Cambridge English: First) qualification for our international students.

Mr Dalzell recently met with Simon Westgate from the Wessex Outreach exam centre (pictured), in anticipation of them administering the certificate. We are the first secondary school in the county to be running this exam with the Wessex Centre. We are very excited about the opportunity it will give for our students.

The B2 First qualification is accepted by thousands of universities and businesses worldwide. It proves that students have the language skills to live and work independently in an English-speaking country or study on courses taught in English.

Commenting, Mr Dalzell, Assistant Head – Curriculum, Data and Standards said, “By offering the B2 First Cambridge English qualification, we are supporting our international students with an invaluable opportunity to provide evidence of their language skills. This in turn may support their future education and business life decisions. We are delighted to be partnering with the Wessex Centre for this, as their strong reputation precedes them.”

The qualification will be available for Sexey’s international students in Years 7 to 11, who do not speak English as a first language. Revision sessions and the examination will be sat during school time and at weekends. More information can be obtained from rdalzell@sexeys.somerset.sch.uk
