Sixth Form in Top 10% nationally
We’re very pleased to announce that our Sixth Form has been placed in the top 10% of schools nationally for A Levels by independent data analysis and educational philosophy provider, Alps Education.
The analysis was undertaken on A Level performance for 2,996 schools and colleges across the UK in 2019. It has resulted in us receiving a Certificate of Outstanding Progress from Alps (pictured). The data analysed is based on our three-year A Level score.
Alps Education is a system that allows schools to measure the value they add to a student’s A Level performance compared to what might be expected of them.
Commenting, Mrs Cullen said: “To receive this certificate is an amazing endorsement of the hard work that our students and teaching staff put in. We are so proud that we are in the top 10 percent of all schools nationally. We strive to help our students achieve the very best of which they are capable. This is largely down to our caring, aspirational environment where students are supported and challenged to ensure each and every one achieves their full potential and leaves us fully prepared for the next stage in their journey of lifelong learning.”
Mr J Moise, Director of Sixth Form added: “We have known that we had outstanding examination results again this year, but this endorsement from Alps is particularly pleasing as it reflects how much better each student has achieved than they might have done, because they came to Sexey’s Sixth. We have a rigorous programme of extracurricular activities to advance all students. We welcome anyone looking for their next steps after GCSE to visit us to see what we have to offer.”
Following examination results in 2019, 49% of our Year 13 leavers went on to attend Russell Group universities.
