A huge congratulations goes to Year 7 day student Libby F, who recently competed in the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) Grand National Finals in Blackpool. She took part in both the Ballroom and Latin, making it through to the quarter finals in Ballroom and coming an amazing fifth place in her Latin.

This is a fabulous achievement as all of the 48 competitors in the competition had to qualify in their regions to get to the National Finals (six from each region).

Libby commented on her success: “I started dancing when I was four (my mum did it when she was young too). I’ve just moved dance schools, to the Caron Parry School of Dance, and this was my first time dancing in Blackpool with them, so I was really pleased to make it through! I dance with Caron’s son Adam who’s an Amateur Champion and is a good partner. I’m looking forward to taking part in the Regional competitions again to try to make it to Blackpool again next November!”
