Bath netball training

On Friday 4th October, we were lucky enough to welcome Team Bath Netballers Rachel Shaw (WA/GA/C) and Kimberly Commane (GS) into school for a netball masterclass with our Year 9, 10 and 11 students.
Working initially on ball skills, Rachel and Kimberly took the girls through some attacking and defense practice, culminating in match play.
Commenting, Tilly B and Jessie S (Year 9) said, “The match, umpired by Team Bath, was great. They stopped play to explain alternative game play, and how we might have improved certain things, then we would retake the pass and do it the right way.
“We also did some reflex practice and strengthening exercises, as well as a Q&A session which was very illuminating. Apparently Team Bath have three training sessions a week, but more in the run up to matches. They also talked about their meal schedules around games, and how to get ultimate nutritional value for playing. Thanks so much to them for coming, we had a great time!”
Team Bath are part of the Netball Superleague, which consists of the top ten netball teams in England, Scotland and Wales. Team Bath is the brand name of the University of Bath’s sports operation.
