After a gruelling month of athletics meets across the county, we are absolutely delighted to announce that Will (Y9) and Honor (Y11) were both selected to represent Sexey’s at the South West Schools Championships in Exeter on 15th June, based on their previous performances.

It is a huge achievement to get so far and only 16 students from across the whole of the South West were selected to compete in each event. Both conducted themselves fantastically by rising to the challenge on the day, with Honor coming in 4th place in the Intermediate Girls Hammer (fresh from the Y11 Ball the night before!) and Will smashing his Personal Best by running 11.73 to make the Junior Boys 100m Final.

This weekend Will returns to Exeter this time to take part in the South West Schools Combined Events Competition as part of the Somerset Junior Boys Team. This event will see the twenty best all-rounders from across the seven South West counties battle it out for places in September’s National Final.

We also say a huge congratulations to Jess Stevens (Y9), who performed a personal best at the National Triathlon Championships this weekend, securing her place on the GB Team for the World Triathlon Championships in Florida. Watch this space for more news! Well done Jess.
