On Friday 9 November, Dr Beeching led a group of twelve Year 12 students to an HE+ conference in Cheddar, Somerset. The initiative is designed to inspire students looking to apply to university to explore their preferred subject beyond the curriculum. At this event – the launch of HE+ 2018 – students took part in masterclasses including the greatest forgery in history, subglacial lakes and why we analyse music.

Commenting on her experience, Camilla Dukes said, “I found the conference very inspiring. It really opened my eyes to what university might be like and expanded my interests beyond what I learn in the classroom. Thanks so much to Dr Beeching for arranging the trip.”
