Human Resources Policies
This policy sets out the framework for a clear and consistent assessment of the overall performance of teachers, including the Headteacher, and for supporting their development.
This policy is used to deal with poor performance and applies to all support staff regardless of length of service. It does not apply to teachers, agency workers or self-employed contractors.
Sexey’s School seeks to provide a safe and supportive environment consistent with the Vision and Values of the school. New staff, whatever their experience, will be provided with an induction programme covering school policies and routines with emphasis on Safeguarding and Child Protection.
- Details of the amount of time off taken by staff who are union officials
We have two union representatives in school, one for NEU and one for NASUWT. Both representatives meet with the Headteacher and Director of HR for 2 hours per term. In 2019, the NEU union representative was reimbursed for 1.5 hours of time for a meeting held on 14 October 2019.
The purpose of this policy is to ensure the school recruits and selects staff and volunteers of the highest calibre and quality, whilst identifying people who might abuse, or be otherwise unsuited to work with, children and young people, thereby rejecting unsuitable candidates or deterring them from applying.
Volunteers at our school bring with them a range of skills and experience that can enhance the learning opportunities of students. The Board of Governors therefore, welcomes and encourages volunteers from the local community.
