Marat/Sade - On the 5th and 6th of May Sexey’s year 12 drama group staged a version of Peter Weiss’s play Marat/Sade, transforming the main hall in to the infamous 19th century French asylum of Charenton. The students, directed by Mr. Reade, played the roles of the asylum inmates lead by the Marquis de Sade (Molly Bear) who act out the events leading up to Jean-Paul Marat’s (Josh Richards) murder at the hands of Charlotte Corday (Amelia Horton) against a backdrop of chilling live music (performed by Harry Brayne).

Link with Colombia - Year 9 science students had a video conference style discussion over the internet with the Anglo Colombian school in Bogota, Colombia. During the 45 minute connection they explained the environmental issues which affect us here in the UK and listened as the Year 11 pupils in Bogota explained about their concerns for their local area and globally. It is hoped that the two schools will continue the connection so the pupils can share ideas and best practise.
