Meet the Teacher – Mrs Scannell

Well, after my first month at Sexey’s I thought it was about time to introduce myself properly.
Mrs Scannell

I have always wanted to be involved in the drama since my Mother decided it would be a good idea to send me for Drama lessons as I was so painfully shy! I went to drama school in London, but soon realised that I enjoyed the directing and teaching side much more than the actual performing. With the help of my teacher and mentor, the renowned phonetician Greta Colson, I gained my teaching qualifications and others in remedial speech and therapy. Since then, I have never looked back.

As well as teaching, I examine for GCSE and A level Drama and am a consultant for businesses wishing to improve the presentation skills of their management and staff. It is a little known fact that 70% of people would rather stand in their underwear in front of an audience than speak!

My passions, outside my family, are my two rescue dogs, Geraldine and Barbara and rugby union.
