Walwin Activity

Further Information

Walwin House is situated approximately five minutes away from the main school site, which is a huge advantage to the children in their first year. It gives them an opportunity to settle into the routines of both school and boarding whilst they are able to "go home" at the end of the day, but still feel part of the school.

The children are woken at 6.30am each weekday morning, ready to leave the house at 7.30am when they walk down to the main school site for breakfast. They remain there for the whole day until 3.50pm when school finishes. On returning to the house after school they have one or two routine jobs to do followed by leisure time until it is time to go down to the main school site for tea at 5.30pm. After tea they have prep from 6.00pm - 7.00pm followed by either an activity in the sports hall, a swim or free time back at the boarding house.

On most weekends the children are taken "off-site" for the day, usually on a Saturday. Most of the time we have a minibus to take us or we sometimes go by train. We may go to a local attraction e.g. Monkey World, The Fossil Trail at Lyme Regis, The Sea Life Centre at Weymouth or a trip to the ice-skating rink, ten-pin bowling, cinema, Quazar, shopping in Bath etc. During the summer term we try and arrange a trip to Thorpe Park for the day, where we all have some great fun!

Walwin House is a warm, friendly environment and we welcome you to join us.
