Recent Coombe House Events

Paintball, England vs Italy rugby, quad bikes, karting, London trip (dungeons, water taxi, musical), Badminton horse trials, Yeovil and Aston Villa football matches, Quaywest water park, Davis Cup tennis at Wimbledon, music concerts, local theatre, Clothes Show.

End of Year trip – a weekend at the YHA hostel in Penzance, Cornwall. Some took a Rib ride to see sea mammals and birds; others went Coasteering – climbing around the cliffs to plunge into deep pools; all surfed and played on the beach. A great weekend was had by all.

Cinema, Shopping trips, Tower Park water slides, Ice Skating, Ten Pin Bowling.

At home

The Common Room is a lively place with music, pool table, table tennis table and Surround sound cinema. We have our own Disco equipment and have regular themed parties. If the students want a bit of peace and quiet then the girls and boys have separate quieter common rooms with TV and games consoles.

We have a well equipped kitchen for cooking cakes, meals from around the world and year group dinner parties and we often enjoy a barbecue.

We have our own fleet of Mountain bikes for local or more distant expeditions. 

The Music room has facilities for solo artists or bands to record a CD.

The Coombe Factor is an annual competition with two heats and a final to find the most talented member of the house.

Each term a group of students meet to discuss what events will be put on for the next term and what they would like to see bought for the house.
