Many of our boarders stay with us seven days a week but others opt to go home for the weekends. The system is flexible so that students can choose what to do each weekend depending on what activities the school or home have to offer.
During the week many of our boarders devote much of their free time to sport with a variety of practices and matches taking place after school. All students are expected to pursue interests and for the less sport-minded there are a variety of clubs and societies on offer including textiles, skateboarding, languages, cooking and radio club to name but a few. There is also an emphasis on outdoor pursuits with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, TenTors, Mountain Biking, Kayaking and Scuba Diving being important elements of the school. Our musicians and dramatists are very active with an annual school musical production and a variety of plays and concerts.
At the weekends many activities are offered on the school site as well as trips to a variety of interests and entertainments. Last years on-site workshops include Steel Drumming, Circus Skills, Bugfest and Pottery Painting and visits were made to Bristol Zoo, Coasteering, Ice Skating, Water Parks, a Theme Park and, Windsurfing. In the gaps the boarders make good use of our on-site sports facilities including the swimming pool. We like to believe that there is something for everyone.
