Specialist school status has an impact upon the whole school and the aim is to raise levels of engagement and achievement in all areas. We are committed to the highest standards of learning and teaching and we see specialist status as a vital opportunity to develop and celebrate such achievements. The Humanities subjects have played a considerable role in the achievement of impressive results at the school. The subjects have also played a major part in whole school developments: all the subjects have been represented on the Teaching and Learning Group and been involved in the development of ICT, Gifted and Talented provision and Assessment for Learning. We have developed strategies for sharing good practice and collaborating for whole school improvement and we seek to ensure the experience and best practice gained from these initiatives will be disseminated for the benefit of all departments.
