Student Support

Leaving behind good friends and changing school can be a wrench and very daunting. For most students it's a new experience and a crucial step towards your future!

To get over any "first day" nerves, you will be invited to an induction morning in June, this will help you to familiarise yourselves with each other, the staff, the school and its facilities. It also helps us to resolve any outstanding problems you may have.Support

Once term begins you will have an enrolment day and you will be assigned to a tutor group and will get to meet all your subject staff.

Your personal tutor will support you whilst in the Sixth Form. Your tutor will meet you regularly for informal individual and group sessions. There will also be at least two formal meetings per year to review progress, set targets and discuss strategies for the future. Your tutor will also support you in your career or university applications.

The school also provides study skills workshops to help with essay writing and revision techniques and we have our own Sixth Form counsellor for when you feel you might need some extra emotional support, if school work, friends or home life are getting you down. The school nurse is also available for medical advice and help.

At Sexey’s you need never feel alone.

I felt that Sexey’s had a very personal feel where the teachers knew you as an individual rather than just a member of a class. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Sexeys and believe it enabled me to reach my potential. Encouragement and opportunities were immense for such a small school”.

I felt that Sexey's sixth form was small enough to give students individual attention if they want or need it. It is an extremely friendly school and has the advantage of allowing students to take responsibility of their studies , but in a structured work environment. I don’t think I would be where I am today if it hadn’t been for Sexey’s”.
