Big Yellow Friday – Thanks
A big THANK YOU to everyone who helped make Big Yellow Friday such a success again this year. We raised over £1,300 for The Children’s Liver Disease Foundation which takes the total raised in the last 6 years (at both Sexey’s and at other events) past the £30,000 mark.
Thank you to everyone, staff & pupils, who turned up in mufti for the day and to the Sixth Form prefects who collected the donations. There were certainly some marvelously creative uses of yellow around school. Big shout out to Miss Clarke for being a minion for the day, Mrs Howes for being Pudsy bear and to Mrs Doughty for being dressed in yellow from “head to toe”. Special mention also to Miss Vowles’s tutor group for being the most Yellow class of the day. Many thanks to all the pupils and staff who bought tickets for the respective raffle or simply donated to the event and Congratulations to those who won prizes. A big thank you also to all the companies who provided over £800 worth of raffle prizes this year.
Every week 20 children in the UK are diagnosed with a life-threatening childhood liver disease.
More children in the UK are currently diagnosed with a liver disease than childhood leukaemia.
There are over 100 different liver diseases that can affect babies, children or young people.
For most childhood liver diseases, the cause is unknown and there are no cures.
The Children’s Liver Disease Foundation takes action against the effects of childhood liver disease, providing information, emotional support, research funds and a voice for all affected.
